An Italian History
A visionary creative and a progressive businessman, Gerolamo was one of the first entrepreneurs to diversify his commercial offer and expand, during the years, the brand into a comprehensive lifestyle concept. This philosophy was made even more relevant with the arrival of the new creative director Marco De Vincenzo and the launch of the new ETRO Eyewear and ETRO Kids collections to which is added in 2024 the first ever ETRO Residences project in Istanbul in partnership with RAMS Global. In 2026, the new fragrance line will be presented.

Master of Textiles
The success story of ETRO began with its expertise in fabrics and prints. ETRO started collaborations with some of the most important brands such as Yves Saint Laurent, Fendi, Dior, Armani, Valentino, Walter Albini and many others.
Gerolamo ETRO over the years has collected archives of fabrics from around the world such as Lyon silks, Genoese velvets, Kashmir shawls as well as pieces from Rudolf Nureyev personal collection. This unique textile archive is an endless source of inspiration for today’s creations.

Arnica
The Arnica fabric, a registered trademark named after a special Paisley motif, was exclusively designed and reinterpreted by ETRO, is made with only five colors: red, turquoise, yellow, green and ivory. Different processes are used to treat the jacquard, such as covering the fabric with a resin that makes it resistant and durable, which is a perfect and modern alternative to traditional leather mainly used in ETRO accessories. This fabric pattern became one of the brand signatures since 1984, when it was introduced for the first time with a handbag and luggage collection.

Paisley
The meeting between ETRO and Paisley was love at first sight. Starting from antique French Paisley and from memories of Mr. ETRO’s childhood, it has inspired over the years, countless interpretations that have turned the droplet-shaped design into the most authentic, intriguing and instantly recognizable code of the brand.
Conceived in Central Asia, the symbol of the blossom of a date palm is synonymous with nourishment, prosperity and fertility. The symbol evolved and morphed through reproductions on the highest-quality silks and cashmeres.

Prints
Over the years ETRO has become one of the most recognizable international brands for the creation of exclusive handmade prints. Many of the original cashmere patterns presented in ETRO collections have been painted by hand. Serge Maury, disciple of the cashmere designer expertise Vergély, founded the “Cashmere et Fleurs” in 1997 in Lyon. Florent Terracol and the Cashmere et Fleurs studio, still continue to work for ETRO maintaining the tradition of hand drawing. Today digital technology has enabled to duplicate, vary, or modify the original design, always starting from the handmade drawings.

Pegaso
Since it was founded more than 55 years ago, Pegasus was chosen as the quintessential heraldic symbol. A symbol of freedom, strength and creativity which is reproduced on garments, bags and accessories, that season after season defines and distinguishes the brand’s collections.
It encompasses the House’s desire to always push the limits and play with the unexpected - transporting the charm of ancient myth into contemporaneity.
